We entrust this secret to you... make  good use of it….

According to a receipe dating back to  the IIIrd century, these few ingredients should be sufficient to make silver: two drachmas of tin, four of mercury, two of Chio earth. Melt the tin and add the earth and mercury, then spread the mixture on  copper and put it in a furnace.

This copper, plated with thin layers of tin ,only has the appearance of silver! Well! Yes, but, as for us... we have not tried yet!!!
